Practicum Discussion Questions

Hi All!

I've been working on more posts and doing research on the cooking forum, TasteOfHome.com. My practicum presentation is tomorrow, so here are some discussion questions to think about:

- Forums provide an opportunity to gain and distribute knowledge. In what ways might 'free riders' hinder the goals of the forum, or are they enhancing it by consuming the information provided?

- What forms of engagement (ads, offers, comments, posts, submissions) may hinder the mobilization of knowledge in forums? Should everyone have to become a member to post to the site?
